Our Consulting Process

Overview

Our professional services focus on providing unique power electronic solutions that can enable your own technology or distinguish your product in the market place.

At Tritium we specialise in designing power electronics that operate with a high energy efficiency, are robust and stable and are easy to use. Example applications where Tritium's power electronics expertise can offer a high level of support include motor control, renewable energy, battery management, switching power supplies and embedded control systems.

If you think your application requires or will benefit from a power electronic solution please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Engagement Process

We offer consulting services ranging from feasibility studies through to device characterisation. The consulting process is streamlined, allowing you to know exactly what to expect and where you stand.

Our consulting process is shown below.

Consulting Process Flowchart Feasibility Study Specification Quote Design Prototype Testing

Feasibility studies and research usually require large amounts of consultant-client interaction or do not have an identifiable outcome, hence these services are charged at an hourly rate. Once a project specification has been agreed upon, Tritium will provide a free quote for the remaining work. This work is then performed at the fixed quoted price.

Please contact us to discuss the requirements of your project further.

Feasibility Study

A feasibility study is always a good starting point before investing heavily in a project. It can point out paths of your project plan that should be changed or removed and suggest more cost effective methods or systems of achieving the same goals.

Tritium has the insight and breadth of knowledge in the power electronics and renewable energy fields to ensure definite and meaningful outcomes from such studies. We also maintain strong links with leading research institutions, keeping us up to date with the latest happenings in the power electronics arena.

Research Reports

You may require a research report to guide your decision making, apply for a patent or assess an existing product. With two PhD qualified directors Tritium understands research and especially research in the power electronics field. The results of any research are delivered in a concise, accurately referenced and well presented report.

Specification

The specification process is central to Tritium delivering projects on time and in a professional manner. The outcome of the specification process is a document detailing the project's objectives that you require and that Tritium agrees is achievable. Our clients quite often comment on the quality and detail of this specification document.

There is a fixed charge for the preparation of a project specification, which is a document you are free to take with you even if you choose not to use our services further.

Quote

This quote will lay out all charges, along with a project schedule and Tritium's standard terms and conditions. The project schedule identifies milestones allowing clients to observe the project progress.

Design

Combining well-established principles, leading edge technology, and highly specialised knowledge with creative thinking, Tritium is able to provide innovative design solutions that solve difficult problems.

Prototype

This service includes electronics, firmware, enclosures and user interface software if required. All prototypes are tested to specification in our test facilities to guarantee the performance of the product.

Tritium also offers a low quantity manufacturing service for pre-production runs of our prototype designs. This allows you to begin initial field testing without the worry and hassles of tooling up for large scale production.

Testing

We are able to characterise your new design confirming that we indeed have met all specified criteria. Tritium also offers a service to test and report on the performance of third-party products. Tritium has it own dynamometer, custom power electronic converters, and all the basic test equipment and know-how required to perform these characterisations. The outcomes of these tests will be presented in a concise and easy to understand report.
