CAN LCD Display

The WaveSculptor system uses a CAN bus to transmit commands and telemetry data. Our LCD display product provides a simple way to read almost any type of data on the bus, not just data from Tritium devices.

Tritium provides open-source firmware for this product, so that you can modify it to suit your requirements. Schematics are also available, to allow you to understand the hardware you are using — we want to make it as easy as possible for you to get up and running with our motor drive system.

Due to the size and cost constraints imposed by the 5-pin M12 connector used by other Tritium devices, the LCD displays use a 10-way IDC ribbon cable, allowing easy routing around the confined areas typically found in a vehicle dashboard. To adapt the M12 bus to the IDC bus, Tritium has available for sale a CAN bridge, which also has the function of protecting the main M12 CAN bus from faults on the ribbon cable, such as may easily occur if the ribbon is pinched or abraded. Multiple LCD displays can be run from a single bridge.
